Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Procurement Buyer role based in Penang, Malaysia. The Procurement Buyer will manage end-to-end purchasing activities, including sourcing materials, requesting and evaluating quotations, and negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. The role involves preparing and processing purchase orders, maintaining accurate procurement records, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support ongoing interior design and construction projects. The Procurement Buyer will monitor inventory levels, coordinate with project and site teams to understand material requirements, and resolve any supply issues or discrepancies. The role also includes assessing supplier performance, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting cost optimization and quality standards across all procurement activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Purchasing Processes and hands-on experience with Purchasing operations in a construction or interior design environment.
  • Proficiency in creating, tracking, and managing Purchase Orders with attention to accuracy and compliance.
  • Demonstrated Analytical Skills for comparing quotations, evaluating supplier performance, and optimizing cost and quality.
  • Effective Communication skills for collaborating with internal stakeholders, negotiating with suppliers, and resolving procurement issues.
  • Relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing; familiarity with construction materials and finishes is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in Penang and coordinate with project teams under time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Proficiency with basic office and procurement-related software (e.g., spreadsheets, ERP or purchasing systems).
  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
