Mills Recruitment is partnering with a leading data center construction and engineering company to hire a Procurement Engineer based at the NTP Project, Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia, supporting large-scale data center construction and MEP projects.

The Challenge
Play a key role in supporting project delivery by managing the procurement of construction and MEP materials, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring materials are delivered on time while meeting project quality and cost requirements.

What You Will Do
- Procure construction and MEP materials required for project execution, including steel, pipes, fittings, valves, hardware, lighting equipment, and related construction materials.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including RFQs, quotation comparisons, purchase orders, and supplier coordination.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring timely delivery of materials and services to support project schedules.
- Monitor procurement costs and support project budget control and cost optimization initiatives.
- Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify reliable suppliers and procurement opportunities across the region.
Who We Are Looking For
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain within the construction, MEP, engineering, or infrastructure industry.
- Good knowledge of construction and MEP materials used in building projects within Malaysia.
- Experience handling supplier sourcing, quotation comparisons, cost negotiations, and purchase order management.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and procurement coordination skills.
- Good understanding of procurement processes, cost control, and project purchasing.
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential to effectively communicate with project stakeholders, suppliers, and management based in China.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
