Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team to execute purchasing and logistics strategies that support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products. Each day, you will ensure execution in accordance with company and Procurement team instructions and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Service Business based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Managing a team and ensuring relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly and ensuring alignment between local procurement & logistics activities and division strategy.
Implementing programs to drive improvement in cost, quality, and delivery, in accordance with group/business area procurement guidelines and global division/business area objectives.
Securing full utilization of the SAP Ariba platform according to the relevant procedure, both related to sharing supplier information and finding existing high-performing suppliers to ABB.
Providing support within the cluster countries in terms of procurement & logistics activities and implementing best practices.
Ensuring timely delivery to factories, customer sites, and project locations while optimizing logistics cost and lead time.
Overseeing inventory planning, safety stock policies, and material availability to support production, projects, and service SLAs.
Managing freight forwarders, 3PL partners, and customs brokers in compliance with local and international trade regulations.
Supporting on Import/export processes, Incoterms, customs clearance, and trade compliance requirement.

Qualifications for the role
Degree in an Engineering/Business/Supply Chain discipline or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years of working experience in procurement management activities, supply chain & logistics management.
Industry or Project experience in Electrification/Service Business would be an added advantage.
Knowledge of sourcing & procurement techniques, negotiation skills, internal & external supplier management, basic contractual understanding and risk mitigation.
Experience in managing freight forwarders, 3PL partners, warehousing and customs brokers in compliance with local and international INCOTERMS trade regulations.
Familiarity with procurement guidelines, procedures and system/tools (SAP, Ariba etc).
Excellent communication skills, structured, results oriented, self-driven, proactive, takes ownership.
