Role Description

The Procurement Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Ulu Tiram. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including supplier sourcing, quotation requests, purchase orders, order tracking, and delivery coordination.

The Procurement Specialist will communicate and coordinate closely with suppliers, evaluate and compare quotations, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and ensure that purchased materials, equipment, and services meet the company's quality, technical, cost, and delivery requirements. The role will also involve following up on orders, resolving supply or quality issues, monitoring supplier performance, and maintaining accurate procurement records.

The successful candidate will work closely with operations, finance, engineering, and project teams to support timely procurement and efficient project execution. The role will also involve analyzing purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve procurement processes, and strengthen supplier relationships.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Chinese and English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication with suppliers and business partners.
  • Diploma or degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supplier management is preferred.
  • Strong ability to source suppliers, request and compare quotations, negotiate pricing, and manage purchase orders.
  • Good supplier management skills, including evaluating supplier capabilities, monitoring performance, and resolving quality or delivery issues.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial awareness, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and delivery requirements.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to compare quotations, track orders, maintain procurement records, and monitor purchasing costs.
  • Ability to understand and communicate product specifications, technical requirements, drawings, or equipment details is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for quotation comparison, procurement tracking, and purchasing analysis.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory, or procurement management systems is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple suppliers and purchasing activities simultaneously.
  • Experience in industrial, engineering, HVAC, manufacturing, or energy-efficiency sectors will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
