This role encompasses comprehensive responsibility for supplier operations, negotiation activities, stakeholder coordination, and master data management across a substantial portfolio of long-tail suppliers. The position requires a proactive approach to managing day-to-day supplier interactions, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and supporting continuous process improvement in a dynamic, global environment.
- Managing High Volume of Suppliers: Responsible for operational management of approximately 3,000 long-tail suppliers, representing 10% of total spend.
- Acting as Single Point of Contact: Handling all operational, commercial, and administrative topics for assigned suppliers, requiring strong multitasking and prioritization.
- Ensuring Smooth Operations: Maintaining day-to-day supplier operations in strict alignment with procurement policies and processes.
- Conducting Negotiations: Performing low-value and operational negotiations within established commercial and contractual frameworks.
- Implementing Strategies: Ensuring centrally defined procurement strategies and contractual guidelines are executed consistently.
- System & Data Accuracy: Maintaining accuracy and completeness of supplier master data, adhering to standards and workflows.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Regularly coordinating with global procurement stakeholders, especially German Category Management teams.
- Issue Resolution: Clarifying and resolving supplier issues efficiently, managing escalations within defined paths.
- Continuous Improvement: Supporting ongoing improvement of supplier-related processes.
What Sets You Apart
- University degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement or a comparable field
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in operational procurement, supplier management or purchasing.
- Experience working in an international or SSC environment is beneficial.
- Practical experience with Procurement and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, LN INFOR, Ariba).
- Confident handling of MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage conflicts constructively.
- High level of ownership, reliability and decision-making capability.
- Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
- Proficiency in at leat one additional Asian language (e.g. Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, Thai, Vientnamese) is an advantage.
- Basic German language skills or willingness to learn; ability to process German-language procurement content with support.
