About the Role
This role focuses on product data management, coordination support, and market research. You will assist in maintaining accurate product data for all materials and components, and support the execution of product launch plans and development-related projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordination & Support: Provide support in coordinating activities related to material and component sourcing, testing, production, orders, launches, and product lifecycle management (including product exits/phase-outs).
- Data Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date product data management, including specifications, lab tests/compliance, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Supplier & Vendor Management: Liaise and communicate with suppliers and business partners in China (and other relevant regions). Manage vendor registration, draft sales contracts, and issue Purchase Orders (POs).
- Material Sourcing & Negotiation: Source, analyse, and select raw materials, hardware, and components. Negotiate for the best prices and payment terms while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Project & Inventory Management: Manage project-based procurement and repeating orders with existing vendors. Track production statuses, oversee Quality Control (QC), and monitor on-time delivery.
- Prototyping & Quality Assurance: Check finishing quality and specifications for all new samples/prototypes. Ensure materials meet product warranties and compliance standards.
- Market Research: Conduct basic market research to understand industry trends, material innovations, customer preferences, and competitor offerings.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Assist in product launches, go-to-market strategies, and provide on-set management for photoshoots. Work with Customer Support and Production to solve issues identified from customer feedback.
- E-Commerce Maintenance: Maintain and update live product pages and track product requests.
Requirements
Minimum/Core Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in any field.
- Demonstrated experience in product sourcing.
- Relevant work experience in a procurement, product sourcing, or product launching role.
- Proficiency in Business Mandarin (spoken and written) is required to effectively coordinate and negotiate with manufacturing partners and suppliers in China.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
Preferred/Bonus Requirements:
- Experience in product launching and vendor management.
- Prior experience working with vendors and suppliers from China.
- Familiarity with Asana or similar project management tools.
