Job Description

Our Client is akin to a startup and comprises a team of progressive leaders previously from various top industry players. Currently, they are looking for a forward looking professional to join them as their Product Development Associate for a niche segment of their many FMCG brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Ideation & Validation
  • Generate new product ideas using consumer insights, market trends, and competitor analysis.
  • Build and prioritise an innovation roadmap using strategic considerations and business cases.
  • Validate ideas through early concepts, prototypes, and structured testing with clear success criteria.
Product Development & Project Management
  • Identify suitable suppliers, technologies, and product innovations.
  • Lead end-to-end product development to ensure on-time, on-brand, and on-budget launches.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on pricing, contracts, and project timelines.
  • Oversee cross-functional processes including design, quality checks, operations, and certifications.
  • Maintain comprehensive product documentation and specifications.
Product Ownership & Lifecycle Management
  • Serve as the product expert across specifications, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve product-related issues, including quality feedback and certification matters.
  • Keep all product records—IP, testing, certification, and legal files—updated and organised.
  • Ensure products meet all relevant safety, storage, and labelling standards.
  • Support launch execution, in-market tracking, and supplier relationship management.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess a Degree and 1 to 2 years of relevantexperience in product development, sourcing, or operations. Experience with electronics or consumer products is an advantage.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills with the ability to handle multiple workstreams.
  • Effective communicator, especially when working with regional or supplier-facing teams.
  • Proficient in documentation and spreadsheet management, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin for effective communication with all stakeholders.
