About the Role
As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for leading new product development projects and ensuring the successful launch of innovative products in the market.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical understanding of products brought to market.
- Lead new product development projects assigned by superior or customer input and requirement.
- Assist team with prototype test, generating report, measure performance metrics and deliver new innovation product.
- Help to organize go-to-market, digital marketing campaigns and trade fairs/conferences events promoting newly launched products within local/overseas market and coordinate/execute workshop (example: JKR).
- Liaise with respective department to create a product plan that identifies the product scope and objectives for new products.
- Provide technical support, problem solving and identifying root cause.
- Participating and exchanging knowledge in process, technology, material and product technology.
- Participates in the commissioning of newly installed equipment, including the development of commissioning process for machinery.
- Flexibility in work schedule to support operations during initial stage of mass production.
- Active support and participation in driving reliability initiatives through root cause analysis, idea generation and project execution.
- Recommends process and equipment modifications to improve plant performance.
- Assist and work closely with Business Development Manager to expedite task carry out and undertake extra responsibility from time to time as assigned by Superior.
- Report the progress of the projects through monthly progress report.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or related field.
- Minimum 1-year experience in product development.
- Skills required in problem-solving, advanced MS office, manpower management and supervision, decision making ability and leadership, time management and organization.
- Excellent in verbal and written communication as well as in team working.
- Familiar with production environment rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.
