Position Summary

The Product Development Pharmacist / Regulatory & Business Development Pharmacist leads the development of new product pipelines health, wellness and skin care category, ensuring that all new formulations meet regulatory standards, clinical requirements, and commercial goals. This role requires translating scientific knowledge into market-ready products, bridging the gap between laboratory research, regulatory approval, and commercialization.

Key Responsibility Area -

1. New Product Development & Formulation

  • Ideation & Research:Identify market opportunities, consumer needs, and gaps to initiate new product concepts.
  • Formulation & Testing:Collaborate with scientists and manufacturers to develop, prototype, and test new health and wellbeing products, drug formulations, dosage forms, and delivery mechanisms (tablets, capsules, topicals).
  • Stability Studies:Conduct, monitor, and analyze stability tests to determine product shelf-life, quality and efficacy.
  • Packaging development and logistical requirements to be managed as part of new product development
  • Prototype Optimization:Evaluate and refine formulations to optimize bioavailability, absorption, and stability.

2. Strategic & Commercial Support

  • Support sales and marketing teams in creating pitch decks for existing and new businesses and present the opportunities to internal and external stakeholders
  • Cost Negotiation for new product development with manufacturers and other suppliers
  • Represent the company in discussing all technial matters with suppliers and industry experts
  • Market Analysis:Conduct competitor analysis and, in conjunction with the marketing team, define user profiles and create robust value propositions.
  • Product Positioning:Work with the commercial team to develop scientific training content and marketing messages to position new products to healthcare professionals.
  • Business Case Development:Prepare business cases and present to stakeholders regarding new product feasibility and investment decisions.

3. Regulatory Compliance & Registration

  • Regulatory Submissions:Prepare and submit technical documentation (Product Summary, Technical Data Sheets) to regulatory bodies (MOH, FDA, Jakim Halal etc.) for new health and wellbeinbg products approvals.
  • Compliance Monitoring:Ensure new products adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
  • Labeling & Claims:Review marketing and labeling materials to ensure they are consistent with clinical evidence and compliant with health authority regulations.

4. Clinical Trials & Evidence Generation

  • Protocol Development:Assist in designing clinical trials to assess the safety and efficacy of new products.
  • Medical Information:Develop, manage, and review technical data for internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education:Bachelor's of Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Licensure:Valid Pharmacist license with relevant local Pharmacy Council/Board.
  • Experience:2-5 years experience in new product developent on consumer health industry is a MUST
  • Technical Skills:Deep understanding of pharmacology, and drug formulation science. Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Soft Skills:Strong project management, analytical skills, and ability to present data-driven insights to stakeholders.
  • Tools:Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Malay speaking and writing proficiency is a MUST

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Successful development of products in health and skincare category from inception till launch within timeline and budget.
  • Ongoing support on existing and new business in dealing with suppliers and relevant stakeholders
  • Product stability and efficacy compliance.
