Role Overview
The Product Manager will drive the end‑to‑end development, enhancement, and profitability of SME unsecured lending products, with a strong focus on government-backed financing schemes. This role requires deep understanding of SME customer needs, credit risk dynamics, and regulatory/program requirements to deliver competitive and compliant lending solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Development
- Lead the design, launch, and lifecycle management of SME unsecured loan products, including working capital financing and term loans.
- Develop and execute product strategies aligned with business growth, portfolio quality, and profitability targets.
- Identify market opportunities and customer pain points to enhance product value propositions.
Government Schemes Management
- Manage products under government-backed schemes (e.g., credit guarantee programs, subsidized financing).
- Ensure compliance with scheme guidelines, eligibility criteria, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies, agencies, and internal stakeholders to optimize scheme utilization and performance.
Portfolio & Performance Management
- Monitor product performance, including loan growth, asset quality, pricing, and profitability.
- Drive initiatives to improve portfolio health (e.g., risk-based pricing, segmentation, credit enhancements).
- Analyze data to derive insights and recommend product or policy adjustments.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with credit, risk, operations, sales, and compliance teams to ensure seamless product implementation.
- Partner with distribution channels to drive product adoption and sales effectiveness.
- Engage with external partners (e.g., government agencies, fintechs, credit bureaus).
Process & Customer Experience
- Streamline end-to-end loan journeys, including digital onboarding, approval turnaround time, and disbursement processes.
- Champion customer-centric product design to enhance borrower experience.
- Leverage automation and digital tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
Regulatory & Risk Oversight
- Ensure adherence to internal risk policies and regulatory requirements for unsecured lending.
- Support development of credit policies and guidelines specific to SME unsecured products.
Monitor and mitigate risks associated with unsecured portfolios.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, SME banking, or unsecured lending.
- Strong knowledge of SME financing, credit risk, and government financing schemes.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret portfolio data and market trends.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in digital lending or fintech integration is an advantage.
