My client is a global company that provides high-reliability electronics manufacturing, design, and supply chain solutions for various industries, including aerospace, healthtech, industrial, communications, and semiconductor capital equipment. They are now looking for a Product Safety Advisor to join their global design engineering team in Penang to develop leading-edge Hardware Platform Solutions in Networking, Storage, and server solutions.
Your new role
- Lead product safety design and validation efforts to meet certification requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant product delivery.
- Provide input on safety aspects during product development (e.g. risk assessments, schematic and layout reviews).
- Develop and execute safety testing procedures based on product specs.
- Coordinate with external labs for certification testing and review results.
- Prepare and submit documentation for product safety approvals.
- Offer technical support on safety and compliance for customer-related projects.
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant educational background in Microwave, electrical, electronic, mechanical engineering, etc.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Safety test, design, or multinational certification
- Skilled in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and EMI receivers
- Strong troubleshooting ability in safety-related matters and familiarity with global certification bodies (e.g., CE, UL, TUV, FCC).
- Knowledge of international standards (e.g., IEC62368-1, CISPR32, FCC Part 15B, GR1089).
- Preferably experienced in safety design for data center hardware like servers, storage systems, or power supplies (AC/DC).
