- The Product Specialist is responsible for the new customer acquisition, customer retention, product usage expansion and product training in their designated territory. The product specialist has sales targets which are assessed on a quarterly basis. Consistently meeting sales targets is a requirement of the Product Specialist.
- The Product Specialist should have an excellent knowledge base across all Tristel products sold in Malaysia. This includes but is not limited to instructions for use, mirco-efficacy, relevant specialty guidelines, technical and validation data by product.

- Location Product Specialist 1:Based Central (KL & Selangor)
- Location Product Specialist 2: Based Northern (Penang, Perak, Perlis, Kedah, Terengganu & Kelantan)
Responsibilities
- You will be assigned a territory and existing customer base to carry out your front-line sales. Territory and customer ownership may be reallocated from time to time at the discretion of management.
- 85% of the Product Specialist work week is spent on building new customer accounts, growing sales within existing accounts, training and product installations out in the field.
- The remainder is used for monitoring and analyzing sales data across the digital platforms: SAC, Salesforce & 3T and reporting to your manager.
- From time to time, you will represent the Tristel brand and products at workshops, industry events and medical society conferences. These may fall on weekends, and you will be given replacement as compensation.
- Tristel products that are used for medical device high level disinfection or for environmental surface disinfection are for professional use only, therefore documented and formulated training protocols are taught to HCP's. This can be done via the Tristel online training portal or face to face by our sales team, depending on the hospital's preference.

- The product specialist is confident in independently carrying out product training, keeping training records and advising HCP's of best practice for compliance with Hospital policies and healthcare guidelines.
- Strong relationships with end users, key stakeholders, are necessary to maintain sales stability and consistency. Tristel is a trusted brand with a high reputation for quality, effective, no-nonsense products and company culture.
- The Product Specialist understands and embraces this approach in their daily work practice and communicates this way to customers at every opportunity.
- End users can range from doctors & nurses to healthcare assistants, the ability to connect with people across a range of educational backgrounds is a requirement.
- Gaining trust within the sales team, marketing team and back office is essential for maximizing sales growth and performance.
- Tristel as a group places a significant emphasis on data, there are several cloud-based platforms that are used internally by sales staff to access sales data, record activity and maintain opportunities.
- Understanding user sales patterns, identifying decline/increase in sales either by product or customer is important for reporting and analyzing and working toward quarterly and annual sales targets. This data and analysis must be used to plan the work week and where to place the greatest time and effort in order to meet sales targets.
- The product specialist should be 100% aligned with product claims, including instructions for use, efficacy claims and intended use when facing new and existing customers.
Qualifications
- Expertise as a Product Specialist or related roles, with knowledge of product functions and features.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate market trends and customer needs.
- Excellent communication skills to present, explain, and promote the product portfolio effectively.
- Customer service and relationship-building skills to provide exceptional support to clients.
- Sales skills, including the ability to identify opportunities, close deals, and achieve set targets.
- Passion for infection prevention and awareness of healthcare operational environments is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness to work primarily on-site in Petaling Jaya and travel locally if required.
