You will oversee the production process, ensuring that manufacturing or production meets performance and quality standards. You will coordinate with different departments, maintaining budgets, managing timelines, and mitigating risks. You will with operations leadership and training to establish long-term vision of operator skills / needs to build an improvement plan. You will work with the Area Business Team roles and Leadership to define increasing future expectations. You will collaborate with management to set production targets and establish goals for the production team. You will report directly to Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure daily Tier 1 meetings are conducted and participate in Tier 2 meetings to maintain alignment and drive operational excellence
- Focus on transferring expertise to the operating team in the development of operators, serves as coach and mentor.
- You will ensure the compliance to PPG EHS and Quality requirement.
- Work with Training Organization to ensure operators are being trained
- Manage and eliminate production losses whether Utilization, Yield or Uptime
- Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures to guarantee a safe working environment for all employees.
- Aid Operators on Troubleshooting, teach and coaches Operators in problem solving and performance gap closure
- Owner of Standard Operating Procedures (not typically author of)
- Communicate with other departments and teams to coordinate production activities and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Work with Shift Team Coach / Shift Supervisors to ensure appropriate daily operator tasks are executed safely and properly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years experience in automotive, coating field or manufacturing environment.
- Have experience in the ISO 90001, ISO 14001 or IATF16949 systems.
- Able to work with multifunctional team and control the shopfloor.
- Knowledge in Lean Six Sigma is an added asset
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office application
