RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Develop and Maintain Production Schedules
- Create daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on confirmed customer orders and plant capacity.
- Convert planned orders and schedule production orders in SAP (PP module).
- Align schedules with available resources (machines, manpower, and materials).
- Maintain and update capacity planning data; ensure feasible and stable schedules.
- Minimize unplanned changes and ensure all plans reflect machine and material readiness.
- Monitor production adherence and adjust schedules based on real-time conditions.
2.Inventory & Material Control
- Ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to support continuous operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure SAP data accuracy (MM/WM modules).
- Coordinate stock transfers between internal plants when needed.
- Support inventory cycle counts and accuracy improvement initiatives.
- Monitor material consumption trends and trigger replenishment proactively.
- Investigate variances and resolve discrepancies.
3.Cross-Functional Coordination
- Production: Collaborate in terms of machine scheduling, downtime handling, and efficiency improvements.
- Procurement: Ensure timely material availability and alignment with forecasts.
- Logistics: Collaborate in terms of shipment planning, dispatch readiness, and delivery commitments.
- Warehouse: Coordinate on stock receiving and issuing, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, variance investigation, and storage optimization to prevent loss, theft, and errors.
- Quality: Partner on incoming material inspection, quarantine and release status, label integrity.
- Sales & Customer Service: Act as technical liaison to explain ATP logic and provide what-if scenario planning for urgent customer requests without compromising existing schedules.
4.Data analysis on demand forecasts and historical data
- Analyze demand forecasts and historical consumption trends to improve planning accuracy.
- Use Excel Power Query, Power Pivot, SAP, and Power BI to generate dashboards and operational reports.
- Analyze capacity and identify bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
- Monitor KPIs including production adherence, scrap rate, service levels, and inventory accuracy.
5.SAP System Integrity & ATP Accuracy
- SAP SD-PP Integration Management: Ensure seamless data flow between Sales Orders and Production Orders. Audit the Availability Check (ATP) settings in SAP to ensure they reflect real-time material and capacity constraints.
- Master Data Governance: Regularly audit and update SAP Master Data, including Routing (Standard Values), Work Center Capacities, and Material Master Lead Times (Total Replenishment Lead Time) to ensure the system calculates feasible ready dates.
- Backlog & Rescheduling Management: Execute SAP rescheduling runs (V_V2) to provide Sales with updated delivery dates when production delays occur, ensuring transparency in customer communications.
MAIN TASKS
The Production Planner is responsible for translating customer demand and forecasts into feasible production plans and schedules. The role focuses on capacity planning, production order management in SAP (PP), and schedule adherence to ensure efficient use of machines and resources. The Production Planner coordinates closely with production, procurement, logistics, quality, and customer service to manage constraints, prioritize orders, and continuously improve planning accuracy, service levels, and operational performance.
