Job Summary
The Production Planning & Control (PPC) Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production activities to ensure efficient manufacturing operations within the Powertrain plant. The role works closely with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to optimize production schedules, material availability, inventory levels, and resource utilization while ensuring on-time delivery and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to meet customer demand and business objectives.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust plans to optimize capacity utilization and on-time delivery.
- Coordinate production priorities with Production, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams.
2. Material Planning & Inventory Control
- Monitor material availability to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse teams to resolve material shortages and inventory issues.
- Monitor inventory levels, material consumption, and production output to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
3. Production Monitoring & Performance
- Track production performance against production plans and identify deviations.
- Analyze production data and recommend corrective actions to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- Prepare production reports, KPIs, and performance analyses for management review.
4. Process Improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production planning processes and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and resource utilization.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes by coordinating production readiness.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- At least 1 year experience in Production Planning & Control, preferably from automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken). Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage to facilitate communication with stakeholders from China.
