This Company is an advanced Biorefinery facility located in Malaysia, which uses its own proprietary technology by converting waste biomass into renewal fuels. This new facility is a green field project.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Utility System Design and Optimization: Design and optimize utility systems, including water supply, steam generation, cooling towers, and power distribution. Develop engineering solutions to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability while minimizing resource consumption. Evaluate existing systems and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Wastewater Treatment Management: Oversee the operation of wastewater treatment facilities, including primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes. Monitor effluent quality and ensure compliance with discharge permits and regulatory standards.
- Process Monitoring and Control: Implement process control measures to optimize the performance of utility systems and wastewater treatment processes. Monitor KPIs, analyze data, and troubleshoot issues for optimal operation.
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and standards related to water quality, wastewater discharge, and air emissions. Conduct assessments and implement measures to minimize environmental impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate utility systems with manufacturing processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for upgrades and projects; raise MOCs to improve performance.
- Perform detailed technical analysis and proactive monitoring to optimize systems and improve availability.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Monitor utility and IETS system performance; troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams.
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Develop and maintain operating procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Train and mentor production staff on best practices.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in or lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Prepare reports on Utilities & IETS performance, including KPIs and improvement recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 10 years experience in a similar utilities/IETS role in an industrial setting; OR Diploma with at least 15 years relevant experience.
- Steam Engineer Grade 2 or 1 is an added advantage.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., environmental or process certifications) are an added advantage.
Required Knowledge / Skills / Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge of utility systems, wastewater treatment processes, and environmental regulations.
- Experience in process design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software and analysis tools.
