Production Support Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Address production issues according to the SLA
2. Provide applications support and guidance which may include service packs, upgrades and infrastructure
3. Maintain appropriate levels of technical and procedural documentation
4. Adhere to appropriate departmental procedures and practices (such as auditing requirements, control procedures and incident management procedures)
5. Work in partnership with other departments as required ensuring correct exchange of knowledge and successful transition of developments into production
6. Conduct platform monitoring and performance tuning
7. Work with project teams to investigate complex issues, identify and implement solutions to re-occurring problems
8. Share / spread knowledge throughout the Support Team and relevant areas, from development through to support
9. Take a proactive approach to working with the rest of the interface development team.
10. Monitor and record time spent on activities according to the standards applied in the organization.
11. Report progress to the BAU manager as required.
12. Participate in peer reviews of own and others work as required by the team leader.
13. Share knowledge gained with peers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Information Technology or relevant studies
• At least 2 years of development experience in complete system development life cycle
• At least 2 years of experience and having strong passion in Production support
• IBM Ace developer and application support knowledge
• IBM MQ admin/Developer basic knowledge
• IBM Ace server admin with basic knowledge
• Familiarity with using Postman for API testing
• Ability to use AIX server commands for accessing and reviewing logs
• Familiarity with RDMS databases (Oracle), application server (JBoss) and web servers (Apache)
• Experience in utilities such as Control-M and MoveIT (an added advantage)
• Experience in AS400 based application Life Asia (an added advantage)
• Knowledge in insurance or takaful industry (an added advantage)
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
• Team player with strong self-initiative, quick learning and independent individual
• Able to perform well and have self-control under challenging timeline
• Well-prepared for Production Support environment with expectation to work on extra hours and odd hours when required
• Possess outstanding professionalism with pleasant attitude and personality
• Good in time management
