Job Description

Position : Production Technician (Offshore)

Industry : Oil & Gas

Location : Offshore (Oil & Gas Platform)

Contract Duration : 1 year

Scope of Works:

  • Operate and monitor offshore production systems, including wellheads, production units, separators, pumps, compressors, and other related equipment.
  • Ensure the production process runs efficiently, safely, and within operational targets (e.g., production rates, pressure, temperature).
  • Adjust operational parameters (flow rates, pressure, etc.) to optimize production processes and maintain consistency.
  • Assist in the operation of offshore platforms, ensuring all production systems are functioning according to specifications.
  • Perform well start-up and unloading.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on production equipment and systems to prevent unplanned shutdowns.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment faults, working closely with lead technicians to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Carry out planned maintenance and emergency repairs on equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and quick restoration of service.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and inspections.
  • Adhere to all offshore safety and environmental policies, ensuring a strong commitment to the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Participate in safety drills, risk assessments, and hazard analysis to maintain awareness of potential risks and mitigate them.
  • Report safety hazards, near-miss incidents, and equipment failures in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously monitor production equipment and performance, reporting any anomalies, production issues, or failures to lead personnel.
  • Maintain accurate logs of production activities, maintenance work, and equipment performance.
  • Complete daily or shift reports on production performance, equipment status, and safety observations.
  • Report any operational issues to the Operation Supervisor or Lead Production Technician.
  • Act promptly and effectively in emergency situations, following the required emergency procedures to safeguard personnel and assets.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and ensure readiness for potential offshore emergencies.
  • Work closely with other offshore teams (e.g., maintenance, safety, logistics) to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
  • Coordinate with offshore operations to address any operational issues or optimization opportunities.
  • Provide input on improving operational efficiency and safety practices based on hands-on experience.
  • Ensure the work area is kept clean, organized, and safe, following all operational and HSE guidelines.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials used in production operations, ensuring proper care and functionality.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard and report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements:


  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical qualification in process engineering, or related field.
  • Relevant offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET, Offshore Medical, First Aid).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in offshore production operations or related technical roles in the oil and gas, energy, or maritime industries.
  • Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting offshore production equipment is a plus.
  • Previous offshore experience in a hands-on, operational capacity is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of offshore production systems and equipment.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot production equipment issues.
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations and offshore safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to report and coordinate with lead personnel and teams.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative when necessary.

Working Conditions:


  • Offshore rotational work, typically 2-3 weeks on-site followed by 2-3 weeks off (subject to change).
  • Offshore environment may include long shifts extended rotation, challenging weather conditions, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and hazardous offshore environments.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, heights, and potentially extreme weather conditions.
  • Flexibility in working hours and willingness to respond to operational needs outside of regular working hours.
  • Compliance with all offshore safety regulations and standards required.
