Job Description


The Central Banking Group of Asia School of Business invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Economics with a specialization in core central banking areas. The successful candidate will demonstrate an outstanding track record of research and thought leadership in areas of critical importance for central banks in emerging markets, as well as professionals from other public institutions responsible for carrying out related central banking functions, such as financial supervision/regulation and sovereign wealth management.

He/shewill contribute to the School'stranslationalresearch agenda, teach at the graduate and executive education levels, and help shape curriculum and initiatives both for the ASB's Master in Central Banking program and executive programs for Central Banks, and professionals from financial institutions and public institutions responsible for carrying out financial supervision/regulation and sovereign wealth management. Key Responsibilities

  • Research & Scholarship: Conduct and publish original, high-impact research in central banking, finance, or related fields, including presenting at leading journals and conferences.
  • Graduate Teaching: Design, develop, and teach master's courses that integrate practical and academic insights.
  • Mentorship & Advising: Guide graduate students in research and career development, and mentor junior faculty or staff where applicable.
  • Service & Program Development: Contribute to departmental committees, curriculum development, faculty governance, and broader academic initiatives.
  • Innovation in Education: Develop and implement new teaching methods and contribute to enhancing the program's academic reputation.
  • Funding & Partnerships: Secure research funding through grant proposals and develop collaborations with central banks, industry, and government agencies.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, or a related field from a reputable or top-tier university; significant professional experience in central banking or finance is a plus.

Strong record of research and publications; experience with funding proposals is desirable.

Excellent communication and graduate-level teaching skills.

Ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and work with diverse student populations.
