Position Summary
The Project Architect is responsible for leading the architectural design, coordination, and delivery of mission-critical facilities from concept through construction and project handover. The role ensures architectural solutions meet operational requirements, local regulatory standards, sustainability targets, and fast-track project timelines typical of data center developments. The Project Architect will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and authorities to ensure successful project execution.
Job Responsibilities
Design Leadership & Project Delivery
- Lead the architectural design development of high tech facilities from conceptual design through detailed design, construction, and final handover.
- Ensure architectural designs align operational requirements, including resilience, maintainability, and security considerations.
- Progress design development in accordance with the project Design Checklist and internal quality procedures.
- Incorporate sustainability targets and energy-efficient design principles into architectural solutions.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to architectural team members and support staff.
Document and Tendering
- Prepare and coordinate tender documentation, including architectural drawings, specifications, and contract schedules such as Summary of Tender and Schedule of Rates.
- Develop and define architectural packages scope of works for procurement and contractor engagement.
- Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements
Authority Compliance & Regulatory Coordination
- Ensure all architectural designs comply with local authority regulations, building codes, and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with submission consultants and relevant authorities to ensure timely submission and approval of statutory documentation.
- Coordinate responses to authority comments and ensure design updates are incorporated accordingly
Construction Coordination & Site Support
- Provide architectural technical support during construction and resolve on-site design and technical issues.
- Ensure the Architectural System Supervisor is provided with the latest approved plans and shop drawings.
- Brief site supervision teams on the awarded scope of work, technical specifications, and contractual revisions.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance and Quality Compliance teams to ensure construction meets specifications and design intent.
Stakeholder & Project Management
- Chair architectural coordination meetings with clients on a weekly basis to review progress, technical issues, and design updates.
- Chair sub-contractor progress meetings related to architectural works.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, mechanical, electrical, and data center specialists to ensure integrated design delivery.
- Monitor project progress and support timely resolution of design or coordination issues.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture or related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of architectural experience, preferably with experience in semiconductor, data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of local authority regulations, building codes, and submission processes.
- Experience managing projects through design, tendering, and construction phases.
- Proficiency in BIM tools and architectural design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks).
