This is a fixed-term role of 6months to support a time-critical client project with a leading global medical device manufacturer. The successful candidate is expected to hit the ground running from day one, bringing strong procurement transformation experience, deep category expertise, and the ability to work directly with client teams to deliver measurable impact.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our client and project leadership to help transform a global procurement function, unlock sustainable cost savings, and build the capabilities required to deliver lasting performance improvement.
What you'll do
You will work as a core member of a procurement transformation team, partnering directly with client stakeholders to deliver initiatives across category strategy, cost savings, operating model redesign, procurement process improvement, and capability building.
You will bring deep expertise in procurement categories relevant to medical device manufacturing, including areas such as printed circuit board assemblies, electronic components, plastic injection moulding, silicone and rubber moulding, precision metal components, machined parts, tooling, packaging, contract manufacturing, and related engineered components. You will apply this expertise to identify savings opportunities, challenge supplier cost structures, improve category strategies, and support negotiations.
You will contribute to the day-to-day execution of the client project by gathering and analyzing data, developing category insights, building should-cost models, conducting cost benchmarking, formulating and testing hypotheses, and translating findings into practical recommendations for client leadership. You will also support the implementation of these recommendations with client team members to ensure measurable impact and sustainable results.
You will work directly with client teams, on site, and will help lead and develop client team members through structured problem solving, analytical coaching, procurement best-practice sharing, and hands-on capability building. You will be expected to build strong relationships with stakeholders across procurement, engineering, product development, manufacturing, quality, finance, and supply chain.
You will make an important contribution to the analysis, design, and implementation of procurement improvement initiatives, including category strategy development, supplier collaboration, design-to-value, should-cost modelling, procurement operating model redesign, organizational effectiveness, source-to-pay process improvement, digital procurement enablement, and performance management.
Ina collaborative team setting, you will work closely with others while also operating with a high degree of autonomy. Your analytical, quantitative, and conceptual problem-solving skills, combined with strong interpersonal and communication skills, will be critical to delivering high-quality client outcomes.
