Role Description

The Project/Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing the execution of high-voltage infrastructure works (132kV/275kV), with a focus on Large Scale Solar (LSS) installations. This role involves coordinating site activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulatory standards, and managing contractors and vendors to deliver safe, timely, and cost-effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of HV equipment including transformers, switchgear, and cable systems.

- Monitor progress of civil, structural, and electrical works related to solar farms and grid interconnection.

- Ensure adherence to TNB, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, and other relevant authority requirements.

- Review technical drawings, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITPs).

- Liaise with consultants, clients, and utility providers to resolve site-level technical issues.

- Conduct site inspections and quality audits to uphold safety and engineering standards.

- Support energization and grid compliance processes, including SCADA and protection system integration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 35 years experience in HV substation or transmission projects (132kV/275kV).
• Exposure to LSS projects, including grid tie-in and solar array deployment.
• Familiarity with MS Project, AutoCAD, and electrical simulation tools.
• Experience in Troubleshooting and Technical Support
• Experience in Project Management skills
• Excellent Communication skills
• Ability to work well in a construction site
• Relevant certifications or licenses will be advantageous
