Claims Release & Migration Lead

Years of Experience: 8-10 Years

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Release & Migration Lead with extensive knowledge in Policy Administration and Claims. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the end-to-end process of migrating claims data and systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations while maintaining data integrity and quality. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills and a deep understanding of the insurance domain.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Planning: Develop and define the overall data migration strategy and plan, including scope, objectives, timeline, and required resources.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with data owners, business owners, architects, and application teams to gather and analyze all migration requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to the migration process, developing contingency plans as needed.
  • Resource Allocation: Determine and allocate staff and other resources necessary to complete migration deliverables successfully within time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Process Coordination: Coordinate and manage all data migration activities across various workstreams and solution implementation projects.
  • ETL Management: Oversee the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes, potentially designing or enhancing custom migration tools and working with ETL engineers.
  • Quality Control: Design and implement a quality management plan, including data cleansing, mapping, validation, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and integrity in the new system.
  • Compliance: Ensure the migration process adheres to relevant legislation, statutory approvals, mandatory standards, and data protection regulations.
  • Issue Resolution: Manage and resolve complex cases, complaints, and cross-area or cross-release issues that may arise during the project.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all migration-related activities, providing regular updates to stakeholders and senior management on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation for the migration process, including technical specifications, user guides, and testing results.
  • Training & Support: Provide post-migration support and training to end users to ensure a smooth transition and adoption of the new systems.
  • Claims Business Knowledge: Apply sound business knowledge of the insurance domain, including claim management, policy servicing, and associated data dependencies, to comprehend business scenarios and ensure all claims-specific requirements are met.
  • Claims Operations Alignment: Ensure the new system and migrated data align with and support ongoing claims operations, service delivery targets, and performance KPIs.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Policy Administration & Claims processes.
  • Proven experience in data migration strategy and execution.
  • Expertise in ETL processes and tools.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with data quality management and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with insurance industry regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
