Project Manager - Project Logistics

Our client is a global logistics and transportation company specializing in project logistics, freight forwarding, industrial logistics, and complex cargo transportation solutions. With operations across multiple regions, the company supports major projects in energy, industrial, infrastructure, data centre, mining, and shipbuilding sectors.

The Johor Bahru operation is being expanded to support future project logistics growth in Malaysia.

• Overall responsibility for the commercial and operational management of project logistics projects.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor project cargo movements via road, sea, air, or multimodal transportation.
• Manage logistics execution to ensure deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
• Interface with clients, vendors, transport providers, subcontractors, customs agents, ports, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor project schedules, shipment status, operational risks, and delivery performance.
• Prepare and support quotations, tenders, bids, and commercial proposals.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the project logistics market.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including performance, quality, compliance, and cost control.
• Review and implement efficient logistics workflows, SOPs, reporting systems, and operational procedures.
• Provide regular project updates, reports, and escalation management to clients and senior management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and industry regulations.
• Support the recruitment, training, development, and supervision of logistics and project personnel in Johor Bahru.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the local project logistics operation.

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Transportation, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in project logistics, project cargo, freight forwarding, or industrial logistics.
• Proven experience managing complex logistics projects involving road, sea, air, or multimodal transportation.
• Experience handling project cargo, heavy lift, out-of-gauge (OOG), industrial equipment, or oversized shipments is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding, customs processes, transportation planning, and logistics operations.
• Experience managing subcontractors, transport vendors, and external service providers.
• Exposure to tendering, bid preparation, quotations, commercial proposals, or business development activities.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and developing operational environment.
