Exp- At least 7-10 years working experience as a Project Manager
Job Purpose
A project manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects within General Insurance entity in Malaysia from the initial ideation through to completion. They coordinate people and processes to deliver projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to the business objectives as stated in the approved business paper.
The Job
- Drive and deliver project using either waterfall or hybrid methodology.
- Accountable to prepare and plan project from scope, time, cost & quality aspect and to obtain approval to commence project execution.
- Accountable to drive and complete mandatory project documentation such as business case, project charter, project plan, test plan, lesson learnt, etc
- Lead and collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members and vendor partners (if applicable) to drive and complete project preparation and execution activities and deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making.
- Lead, manage and drive successful project execution activities and deliverables.
- Manage and address project conflict, issues, risks, and expectation and ensure they are escalated or addressed on a timely manner.
- Track & monitor project actual schedule and cost against planned and take corrective or preventive measures to ensure on track.
- Track and manage project change request via governance model to safeguard agreed project scope.
- Develop communication plan to ensure key stakeholders are updated consistently and within expectation.
- Provide periodic and timely status progress update of project.
- Plan and drive successful handover activities from project to BIT support team to ensure on time project closure.
- Comply with GE Group IT Project Management Methodology for IT related project.
- Oversee, manage and plan required augmented contract resources to deliver strategic projects/initiatives.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
- Drive project governance through PSC, CCB, and steering committee forums.
- Manage project financials including budget utilization, forecast, drawdown, PO tracking, and variance analysis.
- Ensure audit readiness by maintaining complete project artefacts and decision logs.
- Manage vendor performance against contractual deliverables and SLAs.
- Track realization of project benefits and post-implementation outcomes.
Our Requirements
- Degree Holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related disciplines
- PMP/PRINCE2 preferred.
- Good knowledge of General Insurance core system, front end system & interfaces, is a must
- Malaysia General Insurance product and services knowledge is preferred.
- Strong leadership and influencing capabilities
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, negotiation & communication skills
- Strong facilitation, influencing and stakeholder management at multiple level within the organization (vertically and horizontally) especially at Senior Management level
- Sharp conflict management and problem solving skills
- Highly people oriented with ability to lead, drive, motivate and coach project members
- Strong IT Risk and governance management mindset
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
