The Lead Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and delivery of large-scale application and data centre migration programmes. Acting as the primary point of coordination across business stakeholders, application teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and governance bodies, this role ensures seamless execution throughout all migration phases—from planning and migration wave execution through cutover, go-live, and post-migration stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of large-scale application and data centre migration programmes.
- Develop and maintain the integrated master project plan, including migration waves, milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities.
- Coordinate and manage migration wave execution, ensuring readiness across application, infrastructure, testing, and business teams.
- Oversee day-to-day project delivery, ensuring activities are completed on schedule, within scope, and to agreed quality standards.
- Plan and manage resource allocation across multiple workstreams, identifying and escalating resource constraints where required.
- Establish and maintain RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies) logs, ensuring timely mitigation, resolution, and escalation.
- Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and governance bodies.
- Prepare and present project governance reports, including RAG status reports, executive dashboards, and Steering Committee (SteerCo) updates.
- Coordinate Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities, ensuring all changes are documented, approved, and implemented in accordance with governance requirements.
- Coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring testing aligns with project timelines.
- Lead cutover planning, go-live execution, and post-migration stabilization activities.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes, enterprise governance standards, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration, accountability, and delivery across application, infrastructure, testing, architecture, and vendor teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years of project management experience, including leading large-scale application and/or data centre migration programmes.
- Proven experience managing complex, enterprise-wide projects with multiple concurrent workstreams and cross-functional teams.
- Strong experience in project planning and tracking using Microsoft Project, Jira, or equivalent project management tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Strong understanding of RAID management, programme governance, dependency management, and executive reporting.
- Experience working within ITIL-based environments, including Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes and enterprise governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, resolve complex issues, and deliver projects in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
