JOB OVERVIEW:
To lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of 132kV and 275kV grid interconnection works, including PMU/Switchyard construction, installation and commissioning, ensuring compliance with TNB requirements, safety, quality, budget and schedule, while securing all necessary approvals and clearances for successful project energization and handover.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.End-to-End Interconnection Delivery: Own the complete project delivery lifecycle, including engineering coordination, procurement support, construction, testing, commissioning, and final energization for 132kV and 275kV interconnecting transmission assets.
2.PMU & Switchyard Construction Management: Direct on-site operations at the PMU. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of critical high-voltage primary equipment, including transformers, gas-insulated/air-insulated switchgear (GIS/AIS), busbars, circuit breakers, and instrument transformers.
3.TNB Liaison & Process Alignment: Serve as the primary focal point for all TNB interface matters. Navigate and execute procedures regarding TNB grid connection agreements, pre-commissioning inspections, testing programs, and coordinate directly with TNB Asset Management and the National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC).
4.Authority & Statutory Clearance Management: Proactively manage, coordinate, and secure permits and approvals from multiple external regulatory bodies and authorities, including:
5.Grid Compliance, Protection & Control: Oversee the deployment of protection and control schemes (relay settings, sync-check, teleprotection, and SCADA integration) ensuring full compatibility with TNB's technical specification standards.
6.Project Controls & Reporting: Perform integrated planning via Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and schedules. Maintain a strict risk log, manage variation orders, and generate daily, weekly, and monthly progress updates for internal and external stakeholders.
7.Site Safety & Quality Assurance: Enforce stringent site safety plans, hazard analyses (HAZID/HAZOP), and permit-to-work systems at the PMU site. Lead Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) programs, including managing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), hold points, and Factory/Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT).
