Job Description

Who are we

We know Mutant is an odd name for an agency. While we'd love to give you a really cool reason for it like being exposed to gamma radiation or being bitten by a spider - our origin story is a little less dramatic.

In 2012, Mutant launched in Singapore as a PR agency with a vision for growth based on getting real business results for clients - without the agency fluff.

Since these humble beginnings, we've evolved into a regional agency with offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand & the Philippines - servicing clients across Asia Pacific and globally for their PR, content marketing, branding, and social media needs.

So, what does this mean for you

You're here because you need help with real problems - whether that's increasing sales, improving employee retention, driving inbound leads, or refreshing your brand to attract investors.

These are the results we measure our success on.

By making a real impact on your business, you'll see the value in working with us, and we'll hopefully kick off an awesome partnership together.

Are you the ONE we're looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Public Relations Consultant (Secondment) who will work closely with our global tech client.

Apart from project management and client servicing, you'll take the lead in crafting communication strategies and work closely with a dedicated team to ensure these strategies are executed flawlessly.

You're confident, possess an awesome personality, and thrive working in a fast-paced environment with a growing team.

What you'll be getting up to:

  • Crafting and executing results-oriented PR programs focusing on influencers engagement and Client's Services business.

  • Planning and management of a number of projects, prioritising these to meet critical deadlines delivering work on time and on budget.
  • Organise briefings with influencers and media; planning of briefings, capturing coverage, and reporting on results.
  • Manage and respond to day-to-day influencers enquiries and ensure our influencers list and profile are up to date.
  • Managing PR inventory; keep track of devices and accessories, update the tracking spreadsheets on a timely basis, coordinate for delivery and pick up.
  • Handle crisis and other reactive PR situations with grace and ease, knowing when and how to respond to influencers inquiries.
  • Identify and escalate potential public issues that may impact our Client; diffuse rumours, and resolve conflicting messages.

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in public relations, preferably in an agency environment.
  • You bring along strong experience in Tech PR (both B2B and B2C)
  • You have a track record in managing PR strategies that drive clients business
  • You're no doubt a confident self-starter and able to drive conversations at the C-suite level
  • You have a solid understanding of the issues and opportunities in the communications industry
  • You have an excellent command of the English language as well as Bahasa Melayu or Chinese
  • You're meticulous and able to perform under pressure.
  • You have experience managing clients, project timelines and budgets. Communicating effectively across all levels with clients, colleagues and other regional team members.
  • You have a strong understanding of the local media landscape
  • You have existing relationships with journalists in Malaysia
  • You have a hands-on approach, actively engaging in execution, problem-solving, and collaboration to drive effective outcomes.
