Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Pupil & Legal Associate at NG, HO & PARTNERS, located in Kuala Lumpur.

The Pupil will be responsible for assisting senior lawyers and partners in research, drafting legal documents, attending court proceedings, and handling various clerical tasks. The role includes analyzing case files, preparing legal opinions, and ensuring the proper management of case documents. The Pupil will also be involved in client interactions, scheduling meetings, and maintaining records.

The Legal Associate will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements
• Assisting with mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions
• Advising on regulatory compliance and risk management

Qualifications

Pupil

• A Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification
• Completed Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) or Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with legal research databases and tools
• Fluency in English and Chinese is required, with proficiency in other languages an advantage

Legal Associate

• A Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification
• Completed Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) or Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC)
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in corporate or commercial law
• Strong legal research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex legal issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with legal research databases and tools
• Fluency in English and Chinese is required, with proficiency in other languages an advantage
