Job Description

Job Description

We're looking for a responsible, detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support daily procurement activities and keep purchasing operations running smoothly. The successful candidate will assist with supplier sourcing, purchase order processing, inventory monitoring, and the maintenance of cost-effective purchasing practices to support overall business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily purchasing and procurement activities 
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding quotations, orders, pricing, and deliveries 
  • Process purchase orders and ensure timely follow-up with suppliers 
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation 
  • Monitor stock and inventory requirements 
  • Compare pricing and negotiate for cost-effective purchases 
  • Support administrative and operational purchasing functions 
  • Ensure smooth communication between internal departments and suppliers 

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or related field 
  • Able to communicate effectively in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia to deal with Chinese suppliers and partners.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of working experience in purchasing or procurement 
  • Good communication and negotiation skills 
  • Able to multitask and work independently with minimum supervision 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Experience in supplier sourcing and vendor coordination is an added advantage 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform sedentary office work, including extended periods of sitting 
  • Frequent use of computers, paperwork handling, and administrative coordination 
  • Occasional movement within the office or warehouse may be required to coordinate purchasing activities or verify goods 
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment
