Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Executive to manage the company's procurement activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, processing purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of materials while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely procurement.
- Follow up with suppliers on delivery schedules and resolve any supply-related issues.
- Compare quotations and recommend suitable suppliers based on quality, pricing, and service.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier database, and procurement documentation.
- Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Coordinate with Finance on invoice verification and payment-related matters.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with company specifications and requirements.
- Perform market research to identify new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support ad-hoc duties and procurement-related projects assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of purchasing or procurement experience.
- Experience in the construction industry will be an added advantage.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Good analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Chinese dialects (Mandarin/Cantonese/Hokkien) is preferred as the role requires frequent communication and negotiation with Chinese-speaking suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
