About the Role

The Purchasing Intern will work alongside the central Non‑Production Purchasing Shared Service team, supporting tactical and transactional procurement activities on a global scale, across cross‑divisional business units and multi‑site operations in Asia Pacific, Europe & Africa, and North America.

Key Responsibilities – What You'll Do

  • Provide helpdesk support, handling inbound requests, emails, and basic procurement queries.
  • Support tactical buying activities for planned operational spend within defined thresholds.
  • Assist with transactional buying desk activities, including raising purchase order in line with Lear's P2P system.
  • Support the use of eProcurement solutions, including e-RFx sourcing.
  • Support operational buying activities by assisting with requirements, specifications, demand, and solution delivery with internal stakeholders.
  • Help ensure products and services are purchased in a cost‑ and time‑efficient manner, supporting purchasing best practices.
  • Support basic quotation comparison to access suitability and reliability.
  • Participate in procurement AI and digital initiatives, providing data support as required.
  • Support large‑scale data entry, cleansing, and validation for procurement‑related datasets.
  • Assist with supplier data management, including supplier card creation and updating supplier contact information in procurement systems.

  • Collaborate closely with global Non‑Production Purchasing teams to ensure data accuracy and timely updates.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Data, or related fields
