Our Client is Manufacturing Company seeking a technically-inclined Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations. This is a critical role that bridges the gap between engineering design and supply chain execution. You will be responsible for sourcing high-precision customized parts, managing electronic components (PCBA), and overseeing factory engineering services.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Purchasing Manager located in Serendah. The role involves overseeing procurement activities, negotiating with suppliers to ensure cost-effective deals, managing inventory levels, and developing purchasing strategies. Additional responsibilities include monitoring supplier performance, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards, and collaborating with various departments to align purchasing goals with organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
- Chinese Proficiency (Required): Fluent in Chinese (written and spoken) for communication with China-based suppliers and technical teams.
- Education : Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years Sourcing/ Procurement experience in one or more of the categories below.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Common Responsibilities ( All Categories)
- Manage supplier performance (OTD, PPM, cost reduction) using SAP/SRM/OA systems
- Negotiate frame agreements, pricing mechanisms, and liability clauses
- Lead root cause analysis and issue 8D corrective action reports
- Drive cost optimization and supplier development
- Collaborate with engineering on Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
2. Common Technical Skills ( All Categories)
- SAP / SRM / OA systems for purchasing and supplier tracking
- Advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, cost analysis)
- Quality tools: 8D reports, fishbone diagram, 5-Why analysis
- Metrology: Calipers, micrometers, Digital Altimiters (if electronic), CMM
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving & coordination between procurement, engineering, production, and quality teams
- Negotiation & contract management (frame agreements, pricing mechanisms, payment terms)
- Supplier development & relationship management
- Risk control (single-source mitigation, raw material volatility, allocation planning)
- Cross-functional communication (internal stakeholders + external suppliers)
- Project management for NPI sourcing and supplier transitions
- Attention to detail for quality requirements
- Willing to travel as required by category (low to high, up to 30%)

- Develop and maintain a reliable global and local supplier base.
- Conduct price negotiations, cost analysis, and contract management to drive cost efficiencies.
- Perform periodic supplier audits focusing on Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD).
