About the Role
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager (M&E) to lead all Mechanical & Electrical quality assurance and quality control activities for hyperscale and mission-critical data centre projects. The successful candidate will ensure all M&E works comply with project specifications, client requirements, international standards, and regulatory requirements while supporting successful testing, commissioning, and project handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP) for all M&E works.
- Lead QA/QC activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.
- Establish and monitor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality procedures.
- Review and approve material submittals, technical submissions, shop drawings, and inspection documentation.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors.
- Ensure all M&E installations comply with project specifications, local authority requirements, and international codes.
- Monitor site quality performance and conduct regular quality audits and inspections.
- Manage NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), corrective actions, preventive actions, and root cause analysis.
- Ensure all quality records, testing reports, inspection checklists, and handover documentation are properly maintained.
- Work closely with Construction, Engineering, Testing & Commissioning, and Project Management teams to resolve quality issues.
- Support integrated systems testing (IST), pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final project handover.
- Lead quality meetings and provide regular QA/QC reports to senior management and clients.
- Mentor and supervise QA/QC Engineers and Inspectors on site.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and drive a strong quality culture across the project team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–12 years of QA/QC experience in M&E construction, with at least 3 years in a QA/QC Manager role.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale data centre, mission-critical, industrial, semiconductor, or high-tech facility projects.
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems including HVAC, Chilled Water, Electrical Distribution, ELV, Fire Protection, Plumbing, and BMS.
- Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 9001, IEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, ASME, and relevant Malaysian standards.
- Experience managing ITPs, Method Statements, FAT, SAT, testing, commissioning, and quality documentation.
- Strong understanding of inspection processes, quality audits, NCR management, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
- Willing to be based on-site in Selangor.
