Job Description
The QC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality control operations to ensure products meet stringent industry and customer standards. This role leads and trains a team of inspectors/technicians, manages inspection processes, drives defect reduction, and ensures compliance with internal quality systems, external standards (ISO 9001:2015) and customer requirements
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily QC inspection activities including incoming, in-process, and final product inspections.
- Lead, coach, and manage QC inspectors to ensure effective execution of quality inspection requirements.
- Allocate manpower and inspection resources based on production requirements and priorities.
- Ensure inspection activities are completed according to work instructions, control plans, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Review and verify inspection results, quality records, and inspection reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Support production teams in identifying, containing, and resolving quality issues.
- Perform investigation and follow-up on product defects, non-conformances, and customer complaints.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Process, and Quality teams on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure non-conforming materials and products are properly identified, segregated, documented, and controlled.
- Monitor quality performance metrics including defect rates, first pass yield (FPY), scrap, and rework trends.
- Drive continuous improvement activities to reduce defects and improve product quality.
- Support root cause analysis using problem-solving tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and corrective action reports.
- Ensure QC inspectors are properly trained and qualified on inspection methods, equipment, and procedures.
- Maintain calibration status and proper usage of inspection tools and measuring equipment.
- Support implementation and maintenance of quality systems, procedures, and work instructions.
- Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures.
- Promote a quality-focused culture and encourage employee ownership of product quality.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Quality Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
- At least 3 years working experience related to QC and people management
- Ability to follow procedures and processes.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management System Requirements.
- Proficient with computer-based productivity tools (i.e. Microsoft Office)
- Proactive, energetic and can work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to details and able to work individually or as a team
- Versatile and have a keen interest in learning and solving problems.
