About The Job

The Quality Assurance Auditor reports to the Chief Internal Auditor (CIA) and Group CIA (GCIA).

He or she assists the CIA and GCIA in quality assurance activities with the aim to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal audit activity.

This includes:

Establish, implement and maintain a quality assurance review program. In addition, conduct QA reviews on selected audits and provide suggestions for improvement.

Establish and implement an induction program for new auditors to equip them with the relevant audit skills and knowledge.

Train auditors on audit methodology, process and procedures.

Perform periodic reviews of the department's policies and procedures to ensure that they are up-to-date, relevant and comply with regulatory requirements and internal audit's professional standards.

Review and enhance baseline RCMs to ensure that they meet the expected quality.

Establish, implement and enhance templates and checklists that are used to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.

Establish and implement a guest auditor training program.

Review reports prepared for management and Board Audit Committee.

Conduct audit workshops.

Perform other duties as assigned by CIA and GCIA.

We are looking for people who

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIA and CISA.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience, with 5 years in a position leading a team of professionals.
  • Knowledge on best practice requirements which underpin corporate governance.
  • Competencies:

a. Technical (auditor independence, business acumen, business process analysis, data collection and analysis, risk assessment, internal audit (IA) engagement execution, IA engagement planning, engagement review, conflict management, IA function management and internal controls).

b. Generic (accountability, customer orientation, decision-making, developing people, developing self, exploring possibilities and teamwork).

  • In-depth knowledge of The Institute of Internal Auditors Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS).
  • Conducted periodic internal quality assessments based on the GIAS.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
