Summary of the role:
You'll lead quality oversight for contract manufacturers (Co-Mans), covering finished product release/ on-hold decisions, vendor auditing and CAPA follow-through, Co-Man issue troubleshooting, complaint investigations, and validation/verification activities to meet food safety and quality requirements.
What you'll be doing:
- Product release & disposition: routine finished goods release/ on-hold, exceptional release/ reject decisions, manage withheld stock closure, reconcile product/ sample counts.
- Vendor audits & CAPA: conduct scheduled Co-Man/supplier audits, track non-conformances, drive CAPA closure and monthly CAPA trending, maintain audit readiness.
- Co-Man qualification & supplier performance: QA lead for new Co-Man assessments (site visit, audit, trials, technical review), review risk documentation (incl. food fraud), manage supplier non-conformance and performance reporting.
- Investigations & verification: lead mock recalls and formula audits, coordinate CCP/ CP/ allergen/ sanitation validation/ verification testing, and ensure complaint RCAs are solid and closed.
Requirements:
- Degree in Food Science/ Food Tech/ Food Engineering with 5 years in food manufacturing.
- Experience managing food safety & quality requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience as an internal/ external quality auditor (lead auditor certification is a plus).
- Working knowledge of GFSI, GMP, ISO, HACCP.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and assertive decision-making, plus basic people/ task management.
