Job Description

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Quality Improvement (QI) & Project Lead – Paint Shop to lead continuous quality improvement initiatives and manage projects that enhance paint process capability, reduce defects, and improve manufacturing performance. The role is responsible for driving process optimization, supporting new model launches, managing engineering changes, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with Stellantis quality, manufacturing, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives to reduce paint defects and improve First Time Quality (FTQ).
  • Analyse paint quality issues using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Root Cause Analysis, and implement CAPA.
  • Monitor paint quality KPIs and drive improvement plans to achieve quality targets.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Paint Shop projects from initiation through production implementation.
  • Develop project schedules, resource plans, risk assessments, and monitor project budgets and timelines.
  • Support new vehicle launches, engineering changes, process validation, equipment trials, and production readiness.
  • Drive paint process optimization to improve efficiency, process capability, and material utilization.
  • Work closely with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, waste reduction, productivity, and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, Purchasing, Engineering, and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, and Stellantis engineering standards.
  • Conduct project risk assessments and ensure safe implementation of all modification and installation activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in Paint Shop Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality Improvement, or Project Management within the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in paint process optimisation, industrialization, and new model launches.
  • Experience managing cross-functional manufacturing projects.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality systems, IATF 16949, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
