Sigma is growing and is looking for a
Quality Inspection Technician for our Malaysian market. Your priority is to
fulfill all of the duties as prescribed under the Occupational Safety And Health (PLANT REQUIRING CERTIFICATE OF FITNESS) Regulation 2024 and as below.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly examine the lifts & escalators at least once in every three months.
- Fulfill all of the duties as prescribed under 14th Schedule.
- Assist QP1 and or QP2 (when required) in conducting Pre PEMULA verification & check.
- Updating data for all inspection conducted eg. Expiring date of CF and 14th Schedule, SCMT & ASR.
- Prepare corrective action report for all deficiencies found during 14th Schedule inspection and follow-up with the respective PIC and or Section Manager for prompt closure of the deficiencies.
- Ensure that lifts and or escalators are in readiness condition for PEKALA authority inspection for the purpose of renewing the Certificate of Fitness and to advise QP1 and or QP2 of any non-compliances before such inspection.
- Notify DOSH of any accident or incident involving the lifts and or escalator.
- Conduct investigation with QP1 and or QP2 and provide Technical Accident Report and remedial action.
- Support EHS Dept in area of Safety & Health of the employee of the Organization, other people during installation, testing, routine maintenance and repair according to OHSAS Act 1994 and Otis WWJSSS compliances.
- Conduct periodic Safety Critical Maintenance Task (SCMT), update and escalate all findings to Department Head.
- Conduct ASR/AES/OFAR (annually), update and escalate findings to Department Head.
- All other responsibilities assigned to you from time to time.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics/Electronic Engineering or related technical disciplines
- Must possess a valid CP3 Certificate of Competency
- 1-3 years of experience in elevators, escalators, construction, M&E, building services, maintenance, or commissioning is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with testing instruments and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of elevator and escalator systems is an added advantage.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
