We are looking for a proactive Quantity Surveyor to manage both cost estimation and material sourcing for our interior design projects with a strong focus on sourcing from both Malaysia andChina-based suppliers. This hybrid role involves preparing basic cost breakdowns, assisting with BOQ, and overseeing the full procurement cycle — from supplier negotiation to the delivery of interior design materials.

Scope of Work
- Source, evaluate, and build strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers (primarily in Malaysia and China), including occasional travel for factory visits and negotiations.
- Oversee the full procurement cycle — from material request to shipment tracking and final delivery for interior design materials (eg., furniture, curtains, mattresses , linens, wall panels, paint, carpentry materials etc.)
- Develop and implement supplier strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
- Request and compare quotations, evaluate costing breakdowns, and negotiate favourable prices, terms, and lead times.
- Work closely with internal teams (Interior Design, Accounts, Business Development, etc.) to align purchasing with project and operational needs.
- Prepare basic cost estimates and assist in generating Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on design plans or site conditions.
- Track budgets, monitor actual project spending, and highlight any cost deviations or material wastage.
- Stay informed on market trends, material alternatives, and price changes to support informed sourcing decisions.
- Ensure essential documentation for purchasing, costing, and import/export processes are accurate.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Procurement, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management.
- 2 to 3 years experience in Quantity Surveying or Civil/Construction related experience.
- MUST be willing to travel overseas.
- Required language(s): Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin
- *We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients and suppliers.
- Familiar with International Commercial Terms, import documentation, and basic international trade practices.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work under tight timelines.
