Perunding NFL Sdn. Bhd. (PNFL), established in 1972, is one of Malaysia's leading Consulting and Chartered Quantity Surveyors firms. We provide comprehensive Quantity Surveying and Project Cost Management Consultancy Services to various clients, including Government, Semi-Government, Statutory Bodies, and private sectors. PNFL has extensive experience in diverse construction works such as Civil Engineering, Office and Commercial development, Retail and Industrial development, Residential projects, Transportation buildings, Hospitality and Leisure developments, and Public buildings.

Role Description

Pre-Contract

(a) Attending all project meetings as requested and arranged by the Project Team/Client.

(b) Preliminary and Schematic Stage

(c) Design Development and Detailed Design Stage

(d) Tender Award and Contract Documentation

Post-Contract

(a) Administering/enforce and monitor the compliance by Contractor on all necessary requirements in the contract such as insurances, performance bond, retention sum, preliminaries items, etc

(b) Evaluation for Monthly Progress Payment – to keep proper record of work done on site and to evaluate and verify the claim submitted by the Contractor for issuance of progress payment

(c) Control of Variations – to keep proper record of all information related to any design changes to the project and to evaluate the cost impact for the purpose of early advice to the Client as well as finalizing the variation order claim submitted by Contractor for Client's approval and closing of Final Account

(d) Carrying out re-measurement of quantities for works done on site for the purpose of payment, Variation and closing of Final Account

(f) To record any works done on day works and to evaluate the claim made for payment and final account purposes

(g) To compile the lists of site directions issued by the Architect/Engineer from time to time for application or issuance of variation orders

(h) To record works which are rejected by the Resident Architect/Engineer due to bad workmanship or non-compliance with the Drawings and or/Specifications

(i) Monitoring the progress of works done and to keep records of any work on site which are not done in accordance with the contract (BQ/Drawings/Specifications)

(j) To carry out any other duties as instructed by Client and/or Management from time to time pertaining to the Q.S services for this project

(k) To carry out all works in accordance with the procedures as set out by the Client and/or company's

Any other duties as directed by the management.

Qualifications

  • Skills in Cost Control and Cost Management
  • Experience in preparing Bills of Quantities (BQ) and Cost Planning
  • Proficiency in Cost Reporting
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Professional certifications or memberships in relevant industry bodies is a plus
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry is advantageous
