The firm specializes in using Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 3D modelling for cost consultancy and value management across diverse projects, including residential high-rise developments and data centres. PKT was the first in Malaysia to implement 3D measurement software that converts 2D PDF or CAD files into 3D models, enabling clients to visually review work from pre-contract through post-contract valuation. Role Description The Quantity Surveyor role at PKT Quantity Surveyors is a full-time, on-site position based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The role involves preparing cost estimates and bills of quantities, conducting measurements and valuations, and assisting in tender preparation and evaluation. The Quantity Surveyor will support contract administration, including progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts, while coordinating with project stakeholders such as clients, consultants, and contractors. Daily responsibilities also include reviewing drawings and specifications, updating cost data, participating in value engineering exercises, and ensuring that all work complies with relevant standards and best practices. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to PKT's BIM and 3D modelling workflows to enhance accuracy and project transparency.

Qualifications

  • Solid foundation in quantity surveying and cost management, including measurement, cost estimating, tendering, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency with digital tools and software relevant to quantity surveying, such as BIM platforms, 3D modelling tools, and measurement or CAD applications.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents accurately.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and interact confidently with clients and contractors.
  • Good organizational and time management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Relevant academic qualification, such as a diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian construction standards, contract forms, and industry practices; prior experience with local or international projects is an advantage.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, openness to new technologies, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
