1. Job Purpose
Radiographers are primarily responsible for operating X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images that aid in the diagnosis of various patient conditions. They can specialize in certain areas of imaging, including sonography, MRI, mammography, computed tomography, and vascular interventional radiography.
2. Qualifications
Diploma in Medical Imaging or equivalent with related field.
3. Experience / Skill:
- Good Spoken and written in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- A license to practice Radiography.
- Good organizational, time management, and analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and compassion.
- Able to perform a Radiographer tasks
4. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patient for x-ray.
- Read doctor's notes as to why exam is being performed.
- Take medical histories.
- Produce x-ray films of parts of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems such as fractures.
- Adjust controls on the x-ray machine to produce radiographs of the appropriate density, detail and contrast of the body part.
- Keep patient records.
- Send film images to radiologist for reporting.
- Have patient undress and remove jewellery.
- Explain procedure to patient.
- Position patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately radiographed.
- Position radiographic equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of a patient's body.
- Manage radiology equipment.
- Carry out other duties from time to time as agreed with the clinic leader.
5. Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)
- Ensure safety of personnel and colleague while working and / or within work premises
- Participate in HSE program including training, emergency drills, campaign etc
- Report all observed unsafe acts or unsafe condition or positively intervene if required
- Comply with applicable legal and other requirements including OSHA1994, PDPA2010 etc
