REGIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – LABORATORIES.
Control Union is a trusted multinational TIC company operating in over 80 countries. We specialize in testing, inspections, and certifications across diverse industries. As part of our strategic expansion in APAC, we are seeking a visionary and business-driven leader to spearhead our laboratory operations in the region.

The position is based anywhere in the APAC region, preferably where we have laboratory set-up (namely, Australia, China, India, Malyasia, Vietnam).
The position will report to the Chairman of Regional Management Team (RT) Asia.

Tasks And Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a regional laboratory strategy aligned with global goals.
- Set and monitor business objectives, KPIs, and innovation roadmaps.
- Provide quarterly updates to regional leadership on progress and needs.
- Drive accreditation strategies.
- Regional Expansion & Market Development:
- Identify growth opportunities in existing and emerging markets (e.g., agri, biomass, metals, minerals, pesticides).
- Lead market entry strategies and ensure regulatory alignment.
- Build strategic relationships with key clients across multiple countries.
- Collaboration & Representation:
- Foster strong partnerships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and industry bodies.
- Represent Control Union at conferences, forums, and strategic alliances.
- Customer Excellence:
- Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality reporting to clients.
- Define turnaround times (TAT) and pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness.
- Oversee resolution of client queries and complaints.
- Establish pricing and quotation guidelines to ensure we remain competitive in the APAC markets.
- Ensure client queries and complaints are addressed effectively and in a timely manner.
- Talent & Team Leadership:
- Build and mentor a high-performing regional lab team.
- Promote a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Identify training needs and support career development.
- Financial Oversight:
- Coordinate with all country Lab Managers and drive the P&L for all APAC laboratories.
- Manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and ensure cost-efficiency.
- Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Chemistry or related science (Ph.D./MSc., or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 15 years of working experience in the TIC or allied laboratory set-up
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in international laboratory management and regional expansion and business development.
- Essential exposure to strategic and commercial aspect of laboratory operations and proven success in scaling lab operations across geographies.
- Experience and network of buyers and traders of Agriculture, Textiles, Chemicals, Food industries.
- Commercial acumen and strategic mindset.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and LIMS systems.

- Strategic decision-making for lab initiatives and expansion.
- Budgetary control across regional operations.
- External representation in partnerships and industry forums.
