Job Description

The Regional Facilities Director is responsible for leading, managing, and optimizing the endtoend operations of multiple data centre campuses across Southeast Asia. This role ensures consistent delivery of worldclass availability, safety, compliance, and customer experience across all facilities. The Director will partner closely with internal leadership, clients, vendors, and engineering teams to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strategic growth initiatives within the region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regional Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daytoday operations of multiple data centre campuses across SEA, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness, uptime, and resilience.
  • Develop and enforce standardized operating procedures, missioncritical protocols, and compliance frameworks across all sites.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and cost performance.

2. Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary regional point of escalation for key customers, ensuring service-level excellence and proactive communication.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with enterprise clients, cloud providers, and stakeholders.
  • Lead governance meetings, performance reviews, capacity planning discussions, and operational reporting.

3. Facilities & Engineering Oversight

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for electrical, mechanical, and building systems across all campuses.
  • Ensure all data centres meet Tier standards (where applicable), regulatory requirements, safety compliance, and internal audit criteria.
  • Oversee major maintenance, upgrades, retrofits, and risk mitigation activities.

4. Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop regional capacity plans, long-term asset strategies, and operational roadmaps for business growth.
  • Support new site development, commissioning, and integration into the regional operations network.
  • Collaborate with design, construction, and sustainability teams to influence future facility designs and operational models.

5. People Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, coach, and develop site managers, engineers, and operations staff across multiple countries.
  • Build a high-performance culture emphasizing accountability, safety, operational rigor, and teamwork.
  • Plan workforce capability, succession, training programs, and resource allocation across the region.

6. Financial & Vendor Management

  • Manage regional OPEX and CAPEX budgets with accuracy, transparency, and cost-efficiency.
  • Oversee vendor contracts, SLA performance, audits, and commercial negotiations.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities, risk profiles, and long-term partnerships.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience

  • 1015+ years in mission-critical facility operations, data centre management, or engineering, with at least 5 years in a regional or multi-site leadership role.
  • Strong track record managing large-scale data centre environments or critical infrastructure (hyperscale, colo, or enterprise).
  • Proven success in client-facing roles with major enterprise or hyperscale customers.

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of electrical (HV/LV), mechanical, cooling, and life-safety systems for data centres.
  • Experience developing and enforcing operational processes aligned to international standards (ISO, ASHRAE, Uptime/Tier standards).
  • Strong capability in incident management, root cause analysis, risk management, and change management.

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel regionally (3050%).
  • Degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFM, PMP, Uptime ATD/ATS, Chartered Engineer) are an advantage.
