Oversees the management of all branches within an area. The Regional Directors develops sales plans and builds strategic relationships to achieve area consumer sales targets, as well as ensure operational efficiency to deliver consistent Customer Experience across the area.
Strategy and Planning
- To develop and implement business and marketing plans for the BM (i.e. sales delivery) to achieve product's objectives and sales targets
- To keep abreast with economic trends and proactively identify sales opportunities with support from Segment Managers
- To effectively manage the target setting and cascading process by: Reviewing and confirming sales targets allocated to the RD Allocate targets to branches and communicating targets to Branch Managers

Business Performance and Management
- To manage and monitor respective region to deliver optimal sales/operational performance by:
Analysing BM sales/operational/systems performance and implementing appropriate actions/initiatives to improve performance, where required
Performing all institutionalised sales management routines (e.g. sales meetings, individual coaching)
Motivating, coaching and counseling RDs as a group and on an individual basis
- To actively build and maintain strong working relationships by:
Maintaining and growing the network to include contacts in major institutions, financial services industry and other industries
Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with key CIMB staff
Maintaining and supporting the building of strong relationships with long term, profitable customers
- Lead the execution of campaigns in the region
- Resolve operational and administrative issues escalated by HDCand Head of CSD
People Management
- Select and hire Branch Managers and sales staff
- Orientate new Branch Managers
- Provide leadership, direction, motivation and career mentoring to staff
- Conduct formal performance appraisal and perform career planning for Branch Managers (e.g. recommendation for promotion, training needs, internal transfers)
- Review and concur with Branch Manager on staff promotions and performance appraisal of sales team
- Maintain and encourage an environment that promotes success, teamwork and professional growth
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure Branch Managers adhere strictly to CIMB policies and procedures, including credit control procedures, audit compliance and BNM guidelines
- Propose and manage annual financial budgets, including ad hoc budgets for the RD
- Monitor budget utilisation and explain variances as necessary
- Comply with all reporting requirements: i.e., Monthly Branch performance report to be submitted to CSD Head
