Regional Director – South East Asia

Report To:  Deputy Managing Director

Based Location: preferably Malaysia and open for Indonesia/Thailand 

Years of Experience:   20 – 25 years (Pump Industry)

Role Objective:

The Regional director will act as the principal representative of Roto Pumps Group in Malaysia. The role carries full responsibility for Profit & Loss (P&L), business strategy, team leadership, and overall operational management of the country business.

Candidate Background:

• Techno-commercial professional from the Pump Industry

• Strong hands-on experience in sales and marketing of Positive Displacement Pumps,         

   preferably Progressive Cavity / Eccentric Screw Pumps

• Exposure to related industrial products such as mechanical seals, valves, gearboxes, etc.

• Strong understanding of Malaysia and SEA markets with proven business development    

   experience

Expected Experience & Competencies:

• 20–25 years of experience in sales & marketing

• Minimum 8–10 years in a Regional Director /Managing Director with P&L responsibility

• Experience managing teams of 5–6 members directly

• Strong exposure to Oil & Gas, Wastewater, Paper industry, Chemical and Palm Oil industries

• Deep understanding of B2B sales and distributor/channel management

• Excellent technical presentation and commercial negotiation skills

• Broad cross-industry customer handling experience

Major Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic business plans to drive growth and expansion in South East Asia  

• Lead, manage, and mentor the local leadership and functional teams

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and government authorities

• Track market trends, competition, and risks to refine business strategies

• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements

• Drive operational excellence across sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, and operations in   

  the SEA .

• Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to meet targets

• Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

• Represent Roto Pumps at industry forums, exhibitions, and conferences

• Leverage existing customer relationships and industry networks to generate business growth

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

• Management qualification in addition to Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred

Language Proficiency:

• English
