We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Regional Manager - Southeast Asia for Airline Cargo Operations to lead and strengthen our airline cargo operations across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end airline cargo operations across the assigned region, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations.
- Monitor operational performance across multiple stations and airline principals, ensuring consistent implementation of airline SOPs and service standards.
- Liaise and coordinate with Civil Aviation Authorities, Customs, Airport Authorities and other regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with local regulations and IATA standards.
- Oversee operational performance, service quality, KPI achievement and regulatory adherence while proactively identifying operational risks and implementing corrective actions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with airline partners, ground handling agents, cargo terminal operators and other key stakeholders.
- Drive operational excellence, resolve service issues proactively, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure seamless cargo movement across the region.
- Monitor operational trends, identify process improvement opportunities, implement best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support business growth by collaborating closely with commercial teams, providing operational expertise for new business opportunities, airline implementations and customer solutions.
- Lead and mentor geographically dispersed operational teams, fostering collaboration, accountability and a customer-centric culture.
Ideal Candidate:
- Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
- 8–12+ years of progressive experience in airline cargo operations, air freight, ground handling or GSA operations within the aviation industry.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams across Southeast Asia while driving operational excellence.
- In-depth knowledge of IATA cargo processes, airline cargo handling procedures, operational processes, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Strong understanding of Civil Aviation, Customs and Aviation Security regulations across Southeast Asia.
- Proven experience in collaborating with aviation authorities, airport operators, customs, ground handling agents and other regulatory stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, identify trends, anticipate challenges and drive proactive solutions.
- Exposure to airline cargo sales, commercial operations and customer support will be considered a distinct advantage.
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse cultures and business environments.
