About Our Client
A globally recognized multinational organization and industry leader (Manufacturing) with a strong international footprint across manufacturing, supply chain, research, and commercial operations. As part of its continued investment in regional Trade Compliance and Customs capabilities, the organization is looking for a technically strong professional to support customs classification, product governance, and compliance activities across Asia Pacific markets.
Job Description
- Classify chemical products, raw materials, and non-chemical materials in accordance with customs regulations and tariff schedules
- Maintain and manage customs classification master data within company systems and databases
- Support regional customs classification governance and compliance activities across APAC markets
- Review technical product documentation such as MSDS/SDS, Technical Data Sheets, Product Specifications, and composition information
- Support business queries relating to customs classification, duty analysis, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely implementation of classification updates
- Prepare KPI reports, operational statistics, dashboards, and performance analysis
- Support customs compliance assessments, audits, and governance reviews
- Participate in digitalization, automation, reporting enhancement, and process improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders on customs classification, compliance, and product governance matters
The Successful Applicant
A successful Regional Senior Customs Classification Asia Pacific should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, Material Sciences, or related scientific disciplines
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience within Customs Classification, Trade Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Product Stewardship, Chemical Compliance, Foreign Trade, or related functions
- Strong understanding of chemical products, product composition, technical documentation, or scientific data
- Experience reviewing documents such as MSDS/SDS, Technical Data Sheets (TDS), Product Specifications, or related technical materials
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data management capabilities
- Ability to interpret technical information and apply regulatory requirements accurately
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- SAP or SAP GTS exposure would be highly advantageous
- Experience within chemical, pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or manufacturing environments is preferred
