Job Description

Position Purpose

The Regional Supply Chain Manager is a critical role responsible for driving the strategic direction and overarching roadmap for our supply chain operations across the APAC region. Core to this role is leading the end-to-end setup of local supply chain capabilities in Malaysiaincluding building a high-performing team, implementing systems, and establishing compliant, efficient operational processes while collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders across China, Southeast Asia (SEA), Australia, and India. This pivotal position requires deep familiarity with the logistics networks and trade links of the major countries in APAC, including China, India, Japan, Australia and SEA. His/her leadership will be in optimizing costs, enhancing supply chain resilience, and fueling our growth ambitions in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Collaboration with Region

  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with the regional team to develop and refine the Asia-Pacific supply chain strategy.
  • Cross-Border Coordination: Ensure seamless integration between Malaysia operations and the broader China/APAC supply chain. Synchronize planning, procurement, and logistics activities to achieve regional objectives.
  • Performance & Analytics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the supply chain. Provide actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to regional leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Technology & Digitalization: Champion the adoption of supply chain management software (SAP, planning tools) and analytics platforms to enhance visibility, control, and decision-making across the region.

  1. Local Supply Chain Setup in Malaysia
  • End-to-End Operations Management: Setup all local supply chain functions including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment to ensure optimal resource use and customer satisfaction.
  • Local Network Establishment: Build and manage relationships with local suppliers, logistics providers, and warehousing partners. Secure cost-effective and reliable services that meet our quality and delivery standards.
  • Compliance & Regulations: Ensure full compliance with all Malaysian regulatory requirements, including import/export customs management.
  • Team Building & Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing local supply chain team. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Process Optimization: Implement continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven techniques (e.g., ABC analysis, cycle counting) to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and prevent stockouts or excess inventory.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proven track record in setting up or significantly scaling supply chain operations in Malaysia. Experience in the sheet metal discrete manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience in material and inventory management, production planning, sourcing, and logistics.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management.
  • Prior experience in collaborating with regional or global headquarters.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong command of core supply chain planning principles and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Expertise in using SAP and supply chain management software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Excel).
  • In-depth understanding of Malaysian/SEA trade, customs regulations, and logistics landscape.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively across cultures and borders.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or master's degree is a plus.

  • Fluent in English. Asian language (e.g. Mandarin) is a plus.
  • Ethical, integrity and in line with FCPA regulations
  • Willing to work under pressure and travel frequently (up to 40% of time)
